Black Jack

Have you ever seen an advertisement for a blackjack seminar? An actual in-person lecture for people on how to improve you’re blackjack game.

Usually, I’m a firm believer in “you get what you pay for,” but in this instance you’re getting much less than you pay for. I’ve seen some extended video of these, and can’t see why anyone with other resources at their fingertips would want to “invest” their time and money in this form of learning.

First of all, list most things, all of this information is available for free online to anyone willing to spend some time to look for it and read through it. If you’re not disciplined enough to read to learn, you probably shouldn’t be trying to master blackjack to begin with. I’m sure they break it down into a comfortable, friendly language for you, but these places can charge anywhere from $300 to who knows how much. Plus a lot of the sites don’t even tell you how much it cost until you go to a credit card site or money transfer site to sign up and pay.

Second, they’re not telling you any “black jack secrets.” They’re not, in fact they’re really just skimming the surface of basic blackjack strategy. Money management, using a chart, remedial card counting – come on people, this isn’t rare information worth paying for.

Third, everything is really hush-hush here, a red flag for anyone considering this. The locations are secret up until a certain time, no last names used (what?). Bottom line, this whole system reminds me of a combination between a self-help seminar and a gathering set up by the top of a pyramid scheme.

Look, you want to get better at online blackjack.com? Read about all of this online for free, or buy a book for $10-$20 from a real expert and put that to use through regular practice and play. Over time, your game and your decision making both will improve, as will your skill level. Eventually, you’ll get better at the game without ever having to sit in a converted hotel ballroom with bagels and coffee at the door.

I might sound harsh, but a sensible gambler doesn’t waste money. He might spend money on a long shot knowing it’ll have a future use to his advantage, but never for a poor reason.
